The draw for the 2020-2021 season has been published at 5:00pm today, 15th July 2020.
The draw does show our fixtures in the order they will be played. However the actual starting date will be governed by the results of negotiations between the RFU and the government to ensure a safe return to play for all parties.
The teams in our league have been grouped into 2 conferences and the season has been grouped into 3 windows of play.
Our season starts with Window 1, which requires teams in our conference to play each other home and away.
This is due to start on 26th September. The first 10 rounds to complete window 1 are as follows:
- Round 1 26th September 2020 Home to Bishop's Castle
- Round 2 3rd October 2020 Away to Five Ways Old Edwardians
- Round 3 10th October 2020 Home to Greyhound
- Round 4 17th October 2020 Home to Stourport
- Round 5 24th October 2020 Away to Birmingham & Solihull
- Round 6 31st October 2020 Home to Five Ways Old Edwardians
- Round 7 14th November 2020 Away to Greyhound
- Round 8 21st November 2020 Away to Stourport
- Round 9 28th November 2020 Home to Birmingham & Solihull
- Round 10 5th December 2020 Away to Bishop's Castle
If the season actually starts between Rounds 1 and 10, games missed will be played in the weeks following Round 10 to complete window 1.
If sufficient time remains in the season we will play the teams in our sister conference either home or away:
- Round 11 Away to St Leonards
- Round 12 Home to Keresley
- Round 13 Away to Cannock
- Round 14 Home to Bloxwich
- Round 15 Away to Atherstone
- Round 16 Home to Stone
Again, if time permits in the season, we will then complete window three by playing the reverse fixture from window 2:
- Round 17 Away to Keresley
- Round 18 Home to St Leonards
- Round 19 Away to Bloxwich
- Round 20 Home to Cannock
- Round 21 Away to Stone
- Round 22 Home to Atherstone
At this point it is unlikely that the season will start on time, but the RFU is in negotiation with the Governement to agree a start date for Rugby and any law variations that may be required to keep the players and officials safe.
Meanwhile we remain at Stage 2 of the return to play protocols with small groups doing non contact training whilst retaining social distancing.
It is also unlikely the the RFU and North Midland's Cup competitions will take place this season.
Don't forget that Redditch Cricket Hockey and Rugby Football Club is open for business on Friday and Saturday afternoons and evenings.
