At the recent AGM Matt Allen was recalled as Club and 1st Team Captain after a year off last season

He is excited to be leading the squad again especially with the new coaching team (Stan, Fitzy, Bushy and Dave Roberts) confirmed for the coming season.

Will Spires comes in as Vice-captain, fresh from winning the Player of the Year award at the presentation night.

Other awards were :

  • Most improved - Joe Purvis
  • Young Player    - AJ Bennett
  • Players'Player   - Jon Beale who also won his first cap for the county

Club ties for 20 first team appearances went to Mike Allen, Clarke Parker, Jon Beale, Cal Razzak and Aaron Atkinson.

The Rhino award for outstanding contribution was shared by the new coaching team of:

Stan Hull, Simon Fitzpatrick, David Roberts, David Bush, David Bennett and Duncan Davies wjho all received medallions.

The Andy Carr award for Service Above and Beyond went to skipper Aaron Atkinson who worked his sox off during the season.

And finally the Clubman of the year was shared by Stan and Fitzy for putting themselves up to take over the coaching and delivering a much improved performance.

In preparation for next season, we are holding Touch Rugby sessions every Tuesday from 7 to 8pm. Come along and have some fun and keep the fitness going.

In other election news Aaron Atkinson will be taking over the running of the Exiles and Daffyd Jones will take on the second team.

Dave Bennett will become Hon Sec and 1st team manager, whilst Steve Hindson aka Skippy, will move from the Hon Sec role after 13 years in post. Steve becomes Club President.
