Redditch are not playing bad rugby, but on Saturday they were outmuscled in the scrums and out thought in the lineouts.
The monster Old Hales scrum was well organised and regularly pushed Redditch off their own ball, winning several tight heads as well as disrupting Will Spires at the base of a retreating scrum.
And in the lineouts unsanctioned early jumping disrupted the Redditch throw, cutting off that supply of ball.
That said Redditch once again tackled all over the park, often turning the breakdown into a good source of ball. From there they started many raids but ultimatley were let down by poor handling and determined Old Hales defence.
This was another game where a few mistakes by Redditch were capitalised on by a sharp opposition attack, despite dominating the open play for long periods.
A pleasing feature was the home sides discipline, giving away just 7 penalties in the match.
Redditch next take on Chaddesley Corbett ay home on 7th February with kick off at 2:15pm.
Chadesley are lying equal 2nd in the league table so the Kingfishers can expect another bruising encounter.
