After the disappointment of last weekend's trip to Keresley Redditch are hoping for better things when they take on 2nd placed Atherstone at Bromsgrove Road this afternoon.

Atherstone have only lost once this season, but in a competitive league, they snuck home 15-12 at home to Keresley 2 weeks ago.

Redditch Manager Luke Kerins felt that the Keresley game was one that got away after Redditch stormed to a 10-0 lead in the opening period of the game.

He is hoping that a more consistent display will be enough to trouble Atherstone as the first half of the season draws to a close.

Next week Redditch face a tricky trip to Bishop's Castle and Onny Valley, with a home tie against Bloxwich to round out the year. Favourable results in some of these matchs should ensure that Redditch finish the year in the top half of the table and, in touch with the leaders.

Meanwhile the 2nd team will be out in force at home today, against Dudley Wasps, hoping for a repeat of the heroics they displayed at Stourport 2 weeks ago.

And later today the Queenfishers will be celebrating their season as they hold their Ladies Presentation Night, the highlight of our social calendar.
