Redditch welcomed North Midlands RFU Chair of Club Support Mike Dempsey-Mitchell to the club on Saturday to reward two of our Unsung Heros with a Honda Volunteer Award.

The first to receive an award was Garry Mills and his nomination read: "Garry has been a willing volunteer for everything ground related over a number of years. Mowing, marking, seeding and fertilising are just some of the tasks he undertakes on a regular basis. And, of course, he coaches our successful ladies touch team and can be seen refereeing mini and junior sides. On top of this he still plays vets rugby and supports every function held by the club"

The second to receive an award was Phil Harding and his nomination read: "Phil's journey began as a dedicated parent assisting a friend in coaching junior rugby, demonstrating a selfless commitment that evolved into a senior player and an RFU qualified coach. His passion for the sport is evident in his inclusive approach, ensuring everyone, regardless of ability, receives valuable game time.Phil has played a pivotal role in expanding our club's reach by driving recruitment initiatives in schools and across the community. As the lead coach, he tirelessly supports coaches of all age ranges, fostering a collaborative and inclusive coaching environment".

This has been a fantastic achievement by these two club members and they are to be totally congratulated and thanked by the club
