Redditch slid to another defeat as, once again, their inability to accept the referee's decisions and quickly reset their defensive lines led to Old Halesonians taking full advantage and scoring several tries immediately after receiving a penalty.
Unless we can learn that what the ref says goes and concentrate on our own jobs we will continue to leak soft tries.
That said, with the ball in hand Redditch showed some good touches and Aaron Atkinson's first half try was a treat to behold.
And for long periods of the second half they defended manfully as the penalties mounted against the visitors.
Though the final score of 5-54 was high with a little more attention to detail it could have been a lot closer.
Unfortunately, as we meet 2nd teams from higher level clubs, we will come up against players who, as fringe first teamers, will be too quick, too big or too skilful.
This has taken its toll over the last few weeks with the results not reflecting the effort that our players are putting in.
Next week we head to Kidderminster to take on Carolians 2nd team.
