Redditch played their hearts out away to Keresley on Saturday but Lady Luck seemed to have abandoned them on the day.
Redditch took an early kead through an Archie Beddard plong range penalty, whilst Keresley responded with an intercept on the Redditch line which led to a try wide out as the interceptor ran out of steam on the 22.
Redditch again took advantage of a penalty to retake the lead at 5-6 which remained the score for a long period.
However Keresley scored another try and two penalties to build a substantial lead. However Redditch had the last word with a try to hard running Jack Mertens to earn the bonus point leaving the final score at 16-11.
Redditch worked hard all match with stout defence and some hard running. Their lineout work was excellent stealing a lot of the Keresley ball.
Too often though play died as the ball carrier ran inside or ignored his support or we kicked away hard won ball.
