Redditch welcomed Keresley to Bromsgrove Road on Saturday expecting it to be a hard day at the office. And so it proved to be.
Despie dominating in the lineouts and achieving parity at scrum time against the big, tough Keresley pack Redditch did not manage to breach the Keresley defence all afternoon with just 3 points from an early penalty all they had to show.
Two pieces of ill discipline saw the Kingfishers down to 14 men for 20 minutes and this was a dominant factor in the final score. A penalty try, which led to the 2nd Yellow Card and two further tries aginst 14 men accounted for 21 of Keresley's points.
Redditch managed to put together some good attacks but were too often let down by good defence or unforced errors.
They will bounce back confident next week when they entertain Trinity Guild with kick off at 3:00pm.
