Redditch Exiles hosted local rivals Bromsgrove Crusaders in their first outing of the season.
With both sides having good squad sizes, and the playing conditions perfect under a moonlit sky this local derby, played under lights, started off at a frantic pace.
Redditch competed hard at all phases but eventually the speed and combination of the visitors, who play every week, was too much for the Exiles and the score mounted as the match progressed.
In the earlier match a couple of very fit, fast and skilful Five Ways backs was the difference between the two sides. The home Under 15 side tried hard at every phase but in the end the visitors ran out comfortable winners.
On the night Rugby was the winner with a large crowd well entertained by two matches played in excellent spirit.
Thanks must go to the supporters of both Bromsgrove and Five Ways Old Edwardians who added so much to the evening.
And a special thanks to North Midland's Young Match Official Lily Terry who refereed both matches.
Redditch return to League action next Saturday when the visitors are Trinity Guild. Kick off will be 3:00pm.

Mitch Ferris takes the ball up with "Bushy" in close support.
