There was no Rugby played by Redditch yesterday.

Scheduled games were postponed out of respect for 1st team player Ash Mooney who, last week against Cannock, sufferred a life changing injury on the field.

Ash is a much loved and respected member of the Redditch family who has brought honour to the club by representing England Fire Service.

He is a willing player and volunteer who devotes additional time to the Mini and Junior Section.

On the field Ash is a never say die player who leads by example

At the moment Ash is in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and is facing a long, challenging  road to recovery.

Ash, and his wife Victoria, are both self employed, so, at the moment, they have no money coming in to meet the daily bills and additional expense of a prolonged hospital stay.

So, to give some small relief, in these circumstances, the club have opened a fundraising page.

The link to his page is:

We invite all who know Ash to give generously, and those in the wider Rugby Community to support Ash wherever you can.

The thoughts, prayers and best wishes of everyone at Redditch RFC, both past and present, go out to Ash and his family.
