Rugby returned to Bromsgrove Road on Saturday as Redditch 1sts took on Droitwich 2nd team in the newly restructured Counties 4 Midland West (South) League.
Well, it returned to Terry's Field, as the main pitch was still considered unusable as it recovers from the summer drought conditions.
Prior to the match both sides and supporters observed a two minute silence to respectfully remember Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The game of two halves saw Redditch score 24 unanswered points going down the hill, whilst losing the uphill struggle 5-28, to leave the final score a nail-biting 29-28 in favour of the Kingfishers. (see Match Report for more detail).
Redditch made 7 changes from their away defeat at Evesham, but with more players becoming available, competition for selection should become fierce for the next match when we welcome Stourport at home with a 3:00 pm kick off.

Though this one was not quite straight Redditch showed a much improved display in the lineout.
