Redditch made the short trip down to Droitwich with a bit of trepidation.
With 10 players unavailable for selection it was time to step up and meet the challenges of a big strong Droitwich XV and temperatues hovering around freezing.
Droitwich took us over to Pitch 3 which had been saved for just such an occasion, with a good covering of long grass, the pitch was taking a stud nicely and the game set to go. And an experienced referee, Andrew Hurn, stepped out in beanie, gloves and leg warmers yp give an excellent performance in difficult conditions.
Droitwich were always favourites and took the game to Redditch from the off. That said the visitors never failed in their efforts and hit back regularly to take away a much deserved bonus point.
The game was exciting throughout and the hardy crowd stayed to the final whistle enjoying some fine attacking rugby from both sides,
