Redditch gave the home fans something to cheer with a hard fought win over local rivals 5 Ways Old Edwardians.
They opened the game with lots of pressure and endeavour resulting in Matt Allen making a clean break before feeding captain Aaron Atkinson who scampered over in the corner.
There was more pressure but Jon Beale was denied as the ball just hit the dead ball line before he managed to force it.
Five ways were always in the game though Redditch dominated the territory and the teams changed ends at 5-0.
It didn't take the visitors long to even the score after a driving maul in the 9th minute.
Redditch defended well as 5 Ways made numerous forays into the home sides 22 but could not break the defence.
On 28 minutes Man of the Match Joe Purvis broke to feed Matt Allen who trundled over for the try.
And so it went on until the 45th minute by the clock when Cal Razzak opened up the defence for Redditch's 3rd try. None were converted leaving the final score at 15-5.
See match report for more details.
Next week sees Redditch make the journey down the M6 to Keresley where, on current form, they should do well.
