Redditch went to Old Halesonins to play their second team on a day when the President's Day filled the grounds with vocal home support.

Though the final score favoured the home side, Redditch were never that far away with the second half going the way of the home side by 15-14.

In the first half Redditch had their chances but did not get the rub of the green to be down by 26-7 at half time.

This scoreline did not reflect the closeness of the game, and the second half reinforced that.

Despite a huge deficit at scrum time Redditch were really mobile in defence and cancelled out the Old Hales possession advantage.

When they did get possession the Redditch back line, martialled by James Mills produced some fine runs.

Overall it was a much improved performance over the previous match. The next win does not look to be too far away.

See the match report for more details.

Next week we host Stourbridge 3rds at Bromsgrove road.

KIck off is still 3:00pm
