Last week, against Upton on Severn, Redditch started slowly, allowing the visitors to race to a 21 point lead after just 20 minutes. They were aided by a strong wind, unusually blowing back toward the club house.
The spectators were fearing the worst, with some already looking toward the bar.
However Redditch knuckled down and kept Upton scoreless for the rest of the half.
Turning at 0-21, Redditch now had the advantage of a somewhat lesser wind and over the course of the half ran in 3 tries of their own, failing with the last conversion attempt.
As Redditch's superior fitness and strong bench made an impact the game was there for the taking.
However some rushed decisions and the spurning of a penalty attempt cost Redditch as they had to settle for a bonus point loss at 19-21. (see match report for details).
Today we travel to Birmingham Exiles with a 2:30pm kick off in deference to the England World Cup Match.
Head Coach Stan Hull, will be looking for a better start, more control and key decision making as well as maintaining the level of commitment shown right to the final whistle.
If he gets that we should manage to topple the undefeated leaders in their own castle.
