Redditch RFC elected their office bearers for the Senior Rugby Section at their AGM on Thursday 5th May.

Whilst many of the existing volunteers remained in office there were many new faces taking on roles for the coming season.

Emily Shotbolt and Craig Martin were appointed as the vice-chairmen of Administration and Playing respetively.

After a year without a treasurer John Tomlinson has taken charge of the purse strings, whilst Loran Abbotts was elected as Volunteer Co-ordinator to complete the main Committee new appointments.

On the playing side James Shotbolt was appointed as Club Coach with assistants Stu Brooks and Aaron Atkinson. James, who has been accepted on the RFU Level 3 Coaching Award, brings a wealth of experience to the role and is full of ideas to take the club forward, including videoing of every 1st XV match and others from Junior through to ladies.

Aaron Atkinson was elected Club Captain, with retiring captain Matt Allen agreeing to stay on as vice-captain.

Will Spires joins the playing team as Recruitment Officer whilst Mel Vann-Blockley will take over pitch side first aid duties.

Garry Mills has also agreed to take over the important role of Equipment Steward to make sure that James and the teams have everything they need for a successful season.

And finally, James Shotbolt was elected to the position of Social Committee Manager.

With most positions filled there is an air of excitement round the club as we prepare for the new season.

We wish everyone who has accepted a position all the best as they carry out their new duties.

And to round out the evening Jason Robinson was presented with awards that could not be taken on Presentation Night.
