Redditch travelled to Worcester to take on a team bristling with talented and speedy backs.
And our best laid plans came crashing down as we had 4 cry offs and a couple of planned late arrivals on the morning and early afternoon before the match.
So Redditch started with just 14 men after a disastrous morning.
But they opened brightly with Matt Allen scoring the first try of the game after a strong forward move.
However Worcester made the extra man count, and, with a mixture of skill, blinding pace and sheer luck managed to finish the 1st half 29-5 in front.
With the arrival of reinforcements at half time the Kingfishers took to the field with a full side and 2 sets of fresh legs.
They started brightly with Matt Allen scoring a great team try which Elliot Williams converted.
Worcester threw everything they had at Redditch but the defence held until the hosts scored two quick tries.
However Redditch were not finished as fresh man Harvey Habgood took an intercept to sprint 85 metres to the line.
Redditch then peppered the home sides line as they desperately sought the bonus point try.
Leading the second half by 14-12 Redditch were looking good until a freak bounce from a charge down gifted Worcester possession to take the final score to 46-19.
Man of the match went to Jon Beale for his excellent line out work and general play.
Despite the scoreline every Redditch player put in a fantastic effort on a day when the Gods were not smiling on them.
They should be proud of that effort and carry the spirit shown into our next home match v Bromsgrove 3rd on 22nd November with kick off at 2:15pm.
