Bishops' Castle and Onny Valley travelled to Bromsgrove fresh for an early kick off and showed why they remain the only unbeaten team in the league.
They managed to survive a second half surge by Redditch which would have put many sides to the sword.
Having skipped to a 26-5 lead just after half time it was time for Redditch to up the ante. Helped by the referee tightening up on the offside lines Redditch had a little more space and totally dominated the rest of the match.
With a solid scrum and lineout set piece ball was available and the breakdown was attacked with gusto. Two tries and a conversion brought the score to 26-17 with the final conversion attempt drifting wide to deprive Redditch of a well deserved bonus point. A further try which looked good from the touchline was adjudged held up by the referee, and yet another effort was held up.
With players expected back from injury Redditch can expect a strong second half of the season.
Next week we travel to Wassell Grove to take on Old Halesonians 2nds.
And following the early kick off the Bishop's Castle lads stayed for the international where England failed to close out the game for the second week in a row, allowing Australia to claim a famous victory well into injury time.
There followed another fantastic community event as we opened our doors to the Royal British Legion and honoured guests for our annual Remembrance Day event.
This event is organised each year by club stalwart James Shotbolt who could not attend due to ill health.
We wish James a speedy recovery.
