43 brave souls boarded the coach for Bishop's Castle full of enthusiasm after the recent victory over League Leaders Birmingham Exiles and remmbering the first round victory over their hosts.
43 disheartened souls boarded the coach for the return journey pondering over what might have been.
Redditch had many opportunities to take this game despite the fact that the hosts fielded a much stronger team than in the first round when they had 6 first choice players unavailable.
Their lineout work was sharp and their wide backs ran freely with intent all afternoon.
Again it was the fine margins that denied Redditch a victory. Two penalty opportunities were spurned when the taken alternatives failed to produce points; a missed touch finder let BC off the hook; a cut inside with players outside cost us a turnover and of course there was too much dropped ball.
That said our scrum was immense on the day and did not deserve the lack of reward from the referee for a dominant performance.
Most of the tackling was of high standard but we do need to get a few more first time tackles in.
Our backline showed signs of good movement and skill running players into the gaps and freeing the wide men.

Next week sees us take on Upton on Severn away in a rearranged match.
