Redditch RFC

For the second week in a row the Rangers took to the field in a merit table match without the full complement of players.

With the first team playing on the adjacent Terry's field due to the 1st team pitch being frozen, all 4 teams were pleased to be playing a match.

So, it started with Redditch running down the hill, but it was The Grasshoppers who made the most of the first half scoring 32 points to Redditch's lone try to Olly Stokes.

The second half was more of the same as Stourbride scored further tries, especially after Redditch were reduced even further going down to 13 men through injury.

The game was marred somewhat when Matt Barnett-Johnson and his Stourbridge sparring partner squred up to each other as Matt ran interference in defence of that "legend" scrum half Garry Mills.

The referee took a dim view of it and issued red cards to both players further reducing the numbers on the field. This did not stop Redditch fighting back with Olly Stokes scoring a second and Harvey Habgood adding the third try.

Jason Robinson was unable to repeat his scoring exploits from last week and is now anxiously looking for his second try.

With the possible exception of "Fat Baby", who will need to attend a disciplinary panel, a good time was had by all and every player who wanted a game had one.

One pleasing aspect of the match was the return of Will Heath, who came back unscathed after an injury break.
