Redditch RFC

Following on from successful outings against Warley and King's Norton, both from a League above us, Redditch took on Old Yardleians in  this home fixture.

With many players unavailable due to holidays and the Bank Holiday Weekend Redditch fielded a team that was no where near to its strongest.

The boys competed bravely against the tough visiting side and more than held their own in terms of possession and territory.

They were also doing fine on the scoreboard until the dying stages when Old Yardleians ran in three late tries to take a flattering 17-31 victory.

Next week the second team take on their first official fixture against Erdington and all second teamers and available vets are invited to attend.

The first team will take a week's rest before hosting Chaddesley Corbett in the North Midland's Vase on September 11th in a replay of the "game that never was" which should have finished the Covid Interupted 2019 season.
