Following last week's poor start against Warley, coach Luke Kerins asked his players to go for it from the off and warned that as the season progresses, nothing less than 100% effort would suffice.
And so Redditch pressured the kick receiver and forced the visitors to defend grimly until the eventual penalty ensued.
James Mills kicked the 3 points and the good start had been achieved.
The score was 3-0 to Redditch and so it remained until the end of the match!
With some heavy showers making handling a lottery many promising attachs were broken down by dropped ball and excellent tackling from both sides.
Both sides launched attacks from broken play but the tackling was always there to thwart any promising attacks.
Kings Norton pushed and pushed right to the dying stages but the defence held firm for Redditch to claim a deserved win.
With a much changed side from last week Redditch put in a committed effort all through the match which was quite pleasing to the coaching staff.
Small improvements to scrum and lineout were in evidence and more is required for next week's visit by Old Yardleians.
