With only one loss so far this season, Birmingham & Solihull needed a win today to clinch the league title with 2 games left to play.
So they arrived at Bromsgrove Road with a large crowd of supporters and ready to play.
And play they did with their "A" game on show across the park. Big forwards ran hard and straight whilst slick, fast backs handled with some skill and superb backing up. Redditch had no answer.
The scene was set when Redditch could not field the initial kick off resulting in a Bees lineout deep in Redditch territory. A solid lineout win and slick handling from the backs saw the first of 14 tries run in by the visitors.
Redditch did have the occasional period of possession and pressure but two attacking lineouts on the opposition 5 metres turned over by the opposition summed up the Kingfishers' day.
As one B & S spectator cynically remarked "Redditch have a bit of work to do on the training pitch"!
This display by the Bees just demonstrated why they should never have been in this league and the massive points difference of over 500 despite receiving 4 walkovers in the season just confirms it.
Hopefully the league restructure for next season will leave us in a fairer league.
Next week sees a coach trip to Bishop's Castle for our final away game with everyone hopeful of a better result.
