This last week was a Funny Old Week if you were trying to fathom out where the Kingfishers are up to this season.
At the start of the week we were lying 4th in the table with 2 wins from 3 and a couple of bonus points.
With the news coming through that Trinity Guild had decided to withdraw from the league, all points scored against them so far were expunged from the record.
The end result of this was that Redditch had moved to second in the table on the same points as Chaddersley Corbett, and still with 14 points.
With excitement just about overflowing after England's mighty victory over the All Blacks, the team set out for Corley, after first confirming that the match against Keresley was definitely on.
The Warwickshire Referee had other ideas and unilaterally took the decision to decline to referee the game on the grounds of a damp pitch. This was against the wish of Keresley and without giving the Redditch players or officials the chance to have any input into the decision, contrary to RFU regulations. So Redditch turned back for home before they had even arrived at the ground.
Meanwhile, with most clubs made of sterner stuff than the appointed referee, other games took place, and without even lacing a boot Redditch had slipped to 5th place in the table, still with 14 points.
The rearranged match will take place on 30th November as clubs up and down the country have a week off to celebrate the results of matches being played elsewhere!
