Redditch's season came to a familiar end when they travelled to Tenbury and were found wanting.
Again the major issue is the inability to keep a consistent side, with at least 7 changes to the previous week's team.
Again the major issue is the inability to keep a consistent side, with at least 7 changes to the previous week's team.
From the start the Tenbury game plan was obvious, use the big bruising forwards to bulldoze a route to the try line and use their backs if required later. This tactic brought them two tries in the first half but R responded themselves by using their wider players and by- passing the opposition's heavy pack, they were rewarded with two Jack Mertens tries making the score 14 all at the break as Will Spires converted them both.

In the second half the injuries started to pile up, a rock hard pitch in the blazing sun with a big pack on the rampage was not a good combination and R wilted in the heat as T scored 5 second half tries without reply.
R have not had much luck this year, many games had crucial turning points where the game swung away from them. Injuries at critical moments deprived them of key players, their wins were expunged as 3 teams dropped out of the league.
But the future is looking brighter, slowly growing pool of younger players, a steady coaching team and a resolute determination amongst the core players that things can only get better next season..
