Man of th match Elliot Williams feeds flying winger Harry Irvine
R suffered another defeat at Wassell Grove though the performance was much better than the previous week.
Changes to the side were going to unsettle them but the loss of fullback Aaron Atkinson in the first minute meant yet another change was needed, and there were more to come.
Changes to the side were going to unsettle them but the loss of fullback Aaron Atkinson in the first minute meant yet another change was needed, and there were more to come.
The heavier home pack used their weight to push over for the opening converted try. Joe Looker responded in style with an audacious chip over the approaching back line to have the ball bounce perfectly back into his arms for a simple score ,converted by Elliot Williams.
More injuries meant more changes to the team who took a while to restore their structure, line outs were a mess and scrums struggled, but in open running play R were looking dangerous, until they lost the ball.
Three first half tries knocked some stuffing out of the visitors, a tapped penalty out wide, an outrageous sidestep and dummy on the half way opened a vast gap to run through and an interception when R were looking dangerous gave OH a 26-7 lead at the break.
The second half took it's time to settle, OH had a player yellow carded, more injuries meant that passive scrums had to be introduced, then OH scored another to extend their lead.
Ironically R's best try came from an urgent defensive play to clear their lines , the ball reaching Harry Irvine who an the 75m to the line weaving around tacklers on his way to the line.
OH were not done, they attacked hard one try attempt was held up but they managed to score from the drop out kick. But likewise R were not done either, with a try bonus point still up for grabs, they took advantage of penalty on the 22m, Mills to Williams to Sid Allen for another converted try but couldn't find the space for a fourth.
It was OH who rounded off the scoring for a deserved victory , but R can take a lot from this performance . Once they get a settled side playing regularly the wins will surely follow.
Player of the match was Elliot Williams.
Redditch tried everything in defence!
