R struggled to cope with the sheer pace of the youthful KN side. The tackling wasn't at its best but even when the attacks were brought to ground the support lines were swiftly on hand to keep the momentum going and R ran out of defenders.
The pattern was set from the first minute when KN ran the ball back from the kick off and scored before R had handled the ball.
Joe Looker levelled the scores soon after rounding off a concerted attack but it was a false dawn as KN ran in two more tries in swift succession. With ball in hand and the forwards leading the charge R were able to stem the tide and Mickey Adams was able to barge over the line to close the gap a little . However two more counter attacking tries gave the visitors a commanding half time lead.
The second half gave us a similar story, KN spotted the gaps and burst through them, and capitalised on stray passes ruthlessly running in six more tries. To their great credit R did not give up the fight. Though the result was beyond doubt there was still a bonus point to be fought for, and fight they did. Despite a stream of injuries and positional switches they battered KN in the closing stages. Jack Mertens scored out wide to give hope yet despite a final onslaught of the KN try line they were unable to break the solid defence for the bonus point.
This Sat they travel to Old Halesonians
When given possession Jack Mertens scored wide out as Redditch pushed for the bonus point try.
