A frustrating afternoon saw R fall to another defeat leaving them to ponder on what could have been, and what should have been.
Taking an early lead through Matt Allen following a dominant phase of forward play with Will Heath converting, it looked like the Kingfishers had shaken off their recent problems and were getting back in their stride. However in an error strewn game on a slippy pitch and greasy ball, maintaining their form was easier said than done.
A dropped ball on the halfway was pounced upon by K, quick distribution resulted in an equalising try, though Archie Beddard restored the lead at 10-7 with a penalty kick, a lead that was held till half time.
K seemed to wake up in the second half as R went off the boil, a smart run blind from a close quarter scrum exposed an open space and a second try. R bounced straight back when the ever active Tom Lipscomb ran a weaving line from the half way to be hauled down inches short but was able to off load to the supporting Joe Morgan for his debut try, AB converted.
The last quarter belonged to K, they upped their game, held on to the ball more effectively and scored four more tries to give the result the appearance of being an easy win, it wasn't. R were combative to the end but errors of judgement marred their performance.
R next game is a week Saturday at Droitwich
