Redditch traveled to Tenbury for the last match of the season and once again the score did not reflect the closeness of the game nor the effort put in by the squad on a boiling hot day.
In the first half the scores seesawed in a well contested manner leading to a 14 each score at half time.
Redditch had responded well to the home sides tries with a trademark burst through the centre by Jack Mertens, and, as the half drew to a close, one of the best tries seen all season which resulted in Jack crossing yet again.
And Redditch could have been in the lead as Man of the Match Harry Rutter was ankle tapped in a lasst ditch effort when the line was wide open.
For Redditch the second half was one of solid defence, with Tenbury scoring twice early in the half.
The Kingfishers held on grimly but injuries forced uncontested scrums and some reshuffling of the troops.
Holes started to appear as men were out of position allowing the home side to score two late tries to end with the flattering scoreline of 40-14.
