On 15th June players, wives and supporters of Redditch RFC came together to celebrate our season.

We opened the season with a fundraiser where  13 brave sould attempted to walk 60 miles in 24 hours from the club to the top of the Malvern Hills and return.

The team was Harry Rutter,   Benn Crookson, Jack Kelly,  Nathan Marthews , Tom Saddington, Tom Dickins, Sid, Jon Beale,   Aaron Atkinson, Will Spires, Phoenix McCann, James Mills,  Jack Mertens.

They were ably supported by Garry Mills and Steve Hindson in the support wagon.

Club ties were won by: Rory Allen, Michael Allen, Harry Irvine, Cal Razzak and  Will Spires.

Most improved player went to Joe Mccombie with Harry Rutter winning the Young Player of the year award.

The Player's Player went to Sid Allen.

The Howden Player of the Year was awarded to Jack Mertens who was also the leading try scorer.

Howden also sponsored a staff member of the year award which went to Chelsea Lee-Fannin who supported the Rugby Section fantastically well during the season.

The “Rhino Award” for outstanding contribution as selected by the Club Captain was presented to a deserving James Mills.

And keeping it in the family, the Andy Carr Memorial        for Service “Above and Beyond”  went to Jude Mills who not only plays both women's touch and walking rugby, but is an everpresent on the touchline and has even been known to wash the playing shirts. A well deserved award.

The following nomination was made for our Clubman of the Year:

" There can only be one winner of Clubman of the year, in fact it is possible that from an admin perspective without him there would not be a club at all.
We moved him upstairs to President to reduce his work load, but he has ended up doing more;
He prowls GMS on a regular basis ensuring it is up to date, ensuring player registrations are completed correctly.
He puts the team into GMS weekly and knows how to tweak the system to accommodate some of our guest players.
He has re written our health and safety policy and emergency procedures in the case of severe injuries.
He ensured that both Senior and Junior sections were compliant when we had our recent N Mids safeguarding audit.
He ensured correct procedures were applied when players needs financial assistance from the N Mids.
He does pre-match H&S checks for home games and records them. He attends virtually every match and more often than not will assess the ref for the N Mids society.
He has arranged two pre match lunches and the Sponsors day, organising the meals, rounding up the numbers and turning up at breakfast time to help prepare the tables. He has organised tonight's awards purchase and engraving as well as arranging the evening itself.
Just for good measure, out of necessity, this year he has looked after our bank account ensuring invoices are paid on time.
and in the spare minutes between all of that he also represents the club at Worcs & Hereford meetings and Refs Society as well as being on the N Mids Disciplinary committee.
I reckon there are at least six job roles in that list and I've probably missed some of things he does on the side that we don't find out about. This club really would be in a poor place without him.
So I give you the most deserved award recipient of the night, Steve Hindson".
